Community Wildfire Protection Plans

A pile of wood on fire in the snow

Community Wildfire Protection Plans (CWPP) are developed in collaboration with and agreed on by state, tribal, local government, local fire departments, federal land management agencies and other stakeholders that manage land in the vicinity of the planning area.

CWPPs identify and prioritize areas for hazardous fuels treatments and recommend treatment types and methods that will protect at-risk communities and infrastructure.

These plans can also include topics such as wildfire response, hazard mitigation, community preparedness, and structure protection. CWPPs throughout the State of Wyoming can be found in the Resources column on the left side of this page.
