What is your risk
What is your risk?
As more and more of society moves out of towns and city to enjoy the quiet and scenic areas of the wildlands, the amount of Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) area increase. WUI is the area where human development meets and intertwines with natural terrain and vegetation of undeveloped lands. This expansion increase the risk and threat of wildland fire to the public and their communities.
If you or anyone you know lives in the WUI, it is a good idea to understand the risks associated with these areas. To examine the potential risk within Wyoming, please visit our Wyoming Wildfire Risk Assessment Portal.
If you are interested in assessing the current status of the fuels on your property and what you can do to implement fuels mitigation, please contact the Wyoming State Forester for your area.
