Inflation Reduction Act

Hazard Tree Removal/Pruning and Tree Planting

Request for Proposals

**DEADLINE for submission is MARCH 15, 2024**

The Wyoming State Forestry Division (WSFD), in cooperation with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Forest Service (USFS), are pleased to announce funding through the 2023 Inflation reduction Act. WSFD’s Urban and Community Forestry (U&CF) grant program received $500,000.00 to be allocated to communities in the State of Wyoming that have been defined as disadvantaged by the Climate and Economic Justice Screening Tool. The mission of the community forestry program in Wyoming is to help communities build effective, self-sustaining community forestry and tree care programs with strong local support. To advance the mission of Justice40, proposals should deliver the benefits of IRA investments through established partnerships with local organizations working to support disadvantaged communities experiencing low tree canopy and environmental justice.  These grant funds will not require a match and will be awarded through a competitive grant process. Grant monies awarded under this program are in the form of reimbursement grants and will be paid only upon completion of granted projects, and submission of a final report (although partial reimbursements may be allowed, at intervals, for larger projects). The intent of this grant is to provide for large-scale hazard tree removal/pruning and Tree Planting projects ranging between $10,000 to $100,000 (which may extend into more than one year, if approved).
